The meaning of FQS battery labels

In FQS Battery We always strive to provide as much information as possible on our products. That's why our labels include additional information to help both professionals and individuals select the battery model they need.

With car batteries, you can always quickly see the most important battery data. We also provide a range of additional information that we consider important and that other battery brands don't provide.

We explain the meaning of the data and information we display on our automotive battery labels.
VOLTAGE

All modern vehicles operate on 12V. Therefore, the batteries for these vehicles are all 12-volt.

However, for those who have a classic carThese vehicles operate at 6 volts. That's why at FQS Battery we have our own selection of batteries for classic vehicles.

Voltage
Ampere Hour
AMPERE HOURS – AH
This figure refers to the maximum amount of energy a battery can store. The technical explanation is much more comprehensive. But we can summarize it in the previous sentence.
For example, if we select our battery FQS75B.0, which is a battery of 75AHFrom this information we directly obtain that:
  • The FQS75B.0 battery has the capacity to give 1A continuous current for 75 hours.
  • The FQS75B.0 battery has the capacity to give 7.5A continuous current for 10 hours.
This is an important factor when selecting the battery for your vehicle. It must be equal to or larger than the one you're replacing. The battery that powers your vehicle is equipped with the necessary Ampere Hours to function optimally.
STARTING POWER – A

When we start our vehicle, the engine must receive a brief but high-intensity burst of energy. This is the starting power. Not all engines require the same amount of power to start. Some vehicles require 45 amps, while others require 90 amps or more.

Hence the importance of this value. We must select the appropriate voltage to ensure our vehicle starts, but without exceeding it, as excessive starting amps can cause problems. And without exceeding the required voltage, as the vehicle won't start.

Range - Technology
RANGE AND TECHNOLOGY

Our batteries always mark the range to which they belong, which refers to the technology they develop.

In tourism, what is relevant is find out if our vehicle has the STAR-STOP system or it doesn't have one. If it does, it will require either an AGM or an EFB battery. But be careful, it's not one or the other. It's the one recommended by the vehicle or the manufacturer.

And if it doesn't have one, your vehicle can use a conventional battery or an EFB battery, as long as the values match the vehicle's needs.

MINIMUM ENERGY RESERVE

The batteries of passenger cars lose their energy charge due to the operation of the vehicle and the electronics that the car uses and that we can enjoy inside the car such as screens, radio, etc. This is where the alternator. It recharges the battery while the vehicle is running. So as long as the battery and alternator are in good condition, the car battery will have enough power.

Our batteries indicate the number of minutes the battery will be able to supply power at 25 amps when the alternator, for whatever reason, won't recharge the battery. That's enough time to go to a garage to fix the problem and ensure the car doesn't let us down due to a lack of power.

Obviously, the number of minutes provided by this data will also depend on the number of screens in use and other devices operating in the vehicle at that time.

Measures
MEASURES
The spaces manufacturers allocate for batteries are standard. But within those standards, there are different sizes. And if we consider Asian cars, they tend to have more specific sizes with smaller terminals.

That's why at FQS Battery we include the battery measurements on the front label. In millimeters, which may vary from the 3%, which is negligible.
We also offer standardized battery case designs. L1, LB1, L2, LB2, etc.

So between both indications we can always find the exact measurement we need for the vehicle.
